A workshop with students of Ambedkar University, Delhi
On 2 December 2016, Manjri Sewak and Diksha Poddar facilitated a workshop on Gender, Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding at Ambedkar University, Delhi. The workshop introduced participants to the relationship between peace, conflict and development, from a gender lens. It addressed issues of gender stereotypes and how these translate to gender-based discrimination (and violence), with a focus on conflict at the personal level. In the second section, participants designed and presented campaigns on four issues that they wished to address in their communities. These were domestic violence, marital rape, deconstructing masculinity, and concerns around teenage pregnancies.
