Book Details
Collaborative Explorations documents the proceedings of WISCOMP's Fifth Annual Conflict Transformation Workshop held in October-November 2006 in New Delhi. The Workshop brought together 35 alumni from India and Pakistan, retaining the essence and spirit of earlier dialogues, even while embracing change. It employed the framework of Multi-track Diplomacy to facilitate discussions on the Indo-Pak peace process and cooperative security in South Asia. The engagement however moved beyond the understanding of the role of the various tracks, and delved into the constraints the different tracks work with, the strengths of particular tracks vis-a-vis each other, and the points at which these tracks functioning parallel to each other intersect. The participants had the opportunity to identify and discuss scope for personal and collective intervention in multi-track processes of peacebuilding. The workshop not only analyzed the learnings of the last four years in their entirety but also sought to put in place mechanisms for research and action. The discussions around these issues are highlighted in this publication.
